What we pour most

Concrete Driveways for Alcoa Homeowners

A driveway is the biggest piece of concrete most people ever buy, and it is the one that shows every shortcut. We grade and compact the base before a single form goes down, set rebar instead of laying wire mesh on the dirt, and pour 4000 PSI concrete. The finish is a broom texture with open joints, and the control joints get cut — not left to crack wherever the slab decides. Gravel ruts, mud and dust are a fixable problem, and this is how it gets fixed once.

Alcoa is our neighbor here in Blount County and sits inside our regular service radius, so getting out there is routine for us.

Graded and compacted base

The ground work is what decides whether a driveway lasts. It gets excavated, graded for drainage and compacted with gravel before anything is formed.

Rebar, not wire mesh

Steel reinforcement tied and supported through the slab. It is the difference between a driveway that holds a truck and one that spiderwebs the first hard winter.

4000 PSI concrete

The mix we pour on driveways, because East Tennessee freeze and thaw is hard on flatwork and the cheap mix is where people save money they lose later.

Broom finish and cut control joints

A clean broom texture for grip in the rain, tidy open joints, and control joints saw-cut on a plan so the slab cracks where we tell it to instead of across the middle.

Step 03: forms and steel on a Maryville Concrete Pros job in Maryville, Tennessee 03
Step 03

Forms and steel

Forms set to line and grade, then rebar tied and supported through the slab — not wire mesh laid on the dirt.

Step 04: the pour on a Maryville Concrete Pros job in Maryville, Tennessee 04
Step 04

The pour

4000 PSI concrete placed and screeded with enough crew to keep up, and a pump truck when the mixer cannot reach. Big pours do not wait.

Step 05: finish and control joints on a Maryville Concrete Pros job in Maryville, Tennessee 05
Step 05

Finish and control joints

Broom finish or power trowel depending on the slab, clean edges, and control joints saw-cut on a plan so the concrete cracks where we put the joint.

Alcoa Questions

Frequently Asked

How much does a concrete driveway cost in Maryville, TN?
It comes down to square footage, how much excavation and grading the site needs, the thickness and reinforcement, and whether a truck can reach the pour. A flat, open driveway and one that has to be dug out on a slope are not the same job. The consultation is free and in person — we measure the actual site instead of guessing over the phone.
Do you charge to come out and look?
No. The on-site consultation is free and we come to you. Call (865) 910-1938 and we will set a time.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Maryville Concrete Pros LLC is licensed and insured, and it is printed right on our truck and our logo. Hiring a concrete contractor who is neither is one of the most expensive mistakes a homeowner can make.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes — 10% off for military, first responders and seniors. Mention it when you call and it comes off the quote.
What concrete do you pour, and do you use rebar or wire mesh?
4000 PSI concrete, with rebar tied and supported through the slab. Wire mesh laid on the dirt ends up at the bottom of the pour where it does nothing. Every job also gets proper grading and a compacted gravel base underneath.
Why do you cut control joints?
Concrete moves, and it will crack. Cut control joints decide where. Without them the slab picks its own line, usually across the middle of the driveway. The joints get laid out on a plan before the saw comes out.
Can you match new concrete to what I already have?
On finish and layout, yes — we broom finish extensions to blend with the existing slab and plan the joint where the two meet. Color is different: fresh concrete cures lighter and takes months to settle toward the old slab, and it never matches perfectly. We will tell you that up front rather than after.
Do you do stamped and decorative concrete?
Yes, and it is the biggest visual upgrade for the money in this trade. Patterns, color and sealed finishes on walkways, patios and entries. There are real jobs in the gallery — point at the one you like.
How far do you travel from Maryville?
About 35 miles out, which covers Maryville, Alcoa, Knoxville, Lenoir City and everything across Blount, Knox and Loudon counties. If you are not sure whether you are in range, call and ask.
Do you tear out the old concrete?
Yes. Cracked, lifted and settled slabs get broken out and hauled off, and the base gets regraded before the new pour goes in. You do not need a second contractor for the demolition.
